The Spanish club are willing to use Jackson Martinez as a makeweight in their attempt to re-sign their former striker.

Atletico Madrid have offered Jackson Martinez to Chelsea in their bid to sign Diego Costa.

The Sun claim that Diego Simeone is keen to re-sign Costa, although the prospect of a deal is more likely to happen at the end of the season, rather than before Monday's deadline.

The report also claims that Costa, who has scored six goals in his last six games, is in regular contact with his former Atletico team-mates.

Martinez, meanwhile, has played just 657 minutes in La Liga this season following his €35 million move from Porto.
