Heavy snow has been falling overnight in parts of Scotland, just hours after Storm Gertrude brought a day of high winds and rain.
Up to 15cm (6in) of snow has been forecast for some areas after cold air swept in on Friday evening.
The Met Office issued amber be prepared warnings for snow, ice and high winds for most of Scotland on Saturday, with blizzards and lightning also expected.
Winds battered the UK on Friday, with a 105mph gust in Lerwick, Shetland.
The weather led to schools closing, power cuts, bridges closing and delays across Scotland's transport network.
In Northern Ireland, Orkney and Shetland, and the north of England, the snow and wind warnings for Saturday are at the lesser yellow "be aware" stage.
The Met Office said there were likely to be "prolonged spells" of snow overnight in Scotland.
"Five to 10cm snowfall is likely to accumulate quite widely, with over 15cm in places above 300 metres (980ft). Ice is also likely to form on untreated surfaces," it said.
"In addition, gusts of 50-60mph are likely at times, occasionally 70mph across the far north and west of the amber area and over mountains.
